Volunteers
“This experience was fun and I would definitely volunteer to help out with a race again! I am an avid runner and I thought it would be fun to be on the other side for this race and help out with the organization. Seeing so many people smiling and being active was very heartwarming. I was grateful for the opportunity to help out and be a part of such a well organized race.”
– Louis-Alexandre Cabanel, Stetson University
Volunteering at the St. Petersburg Distance Classic is a fun way to help, whether handing out water, medals, food, or T-shirts and bibs. We offer donations of $200 to groups of eight or more.
If students need service hours, our races offer a fun and rewarding experience. We’ll sign your student’s school form after the event.
Options for volunteering include:
- at registration and packet pick-up
- at an aid station dispensing fluids
- at the finish line, handing out medals and water
ALL our participants, athletes, and volunteers alike, will enjoy a festive good time:
- a beautiful run along our Waterfront and artistic Downtown
- typically ideal weather
- post-race celebration, including hot pasta, cold beer, and live music
- tech shirts
If your friends or family members are coming with you, they can “participate” in your race by serving as a volunteer.
Or perhaps you’re an athlete who is not entered to participate for whatever reason – here’s an excellent opportunity to help your fellow athletes and socialize with them afterward in a beautiful park setting.
Fundraising Opportunity for Groups
For non-profit groups looking for fundraising opportunities, you can adopt an aid station. This is a great way for running clubs, youth athletic teams, school groups, and other charities to participate in our community events while earning funds for your organization. Groups will receive a post-race donation of $200.
If your group would like to participate, please register NOW! These are offered on a first-come basis and may fill up quickly. Please note that registering does not guarantee you a spot. Our volunteer coordinator will be in touch with your group assignment.
On behalf of our athletes, many thanks to all in the Tampa Bay community for all your continued support.
We’re located in the beautiful Tampa Bay area, with races in St. Petersburg, Fort DeSoto Park, and Madeira Beach to Largo.
“Didn’t know anything about your marathon prior to entering, but tell your tremendous volunteers, all the way from the beginning, along the trail, and to the end – they did a great job!
– Kim Robinson, Portage, MI
